 Camp California's TA Program
Camp California offers ways to gain experience in the camping industry.
At Camp California we open our TA program to our campers first. Campers over the age of 16 can participate in the TA program while working on their own health and fitness program. As a thank you, our TA campers will receive a reduction in camp fees along with the opportunity to meet high school volunteers as well as the chance to work on their community service hours while at camp. For parents and campers this is great news. Campers gain valuable employment skills while their parents do not have to drive them around for their community service hours. Their children will receive all the benefits of being at camp. All campers looking to take part in our TA program must be enrolled for no less than 4 weeks.
Our TA program is also open to non-campers. We like to first hire those that have been to Camp California in the past or are enrolled for the current season. We then hire those that have been to previous camps followed by students looking for volunteer and community service hours. We will be hiring a minimum of thirty TAs every summer. Like all of our Camp California staff, you will be required to pass the necessary requirements for employment.
What does a TA do?
- TAs will help teachers and/or counsellors with the preparation of classes.
- Some TAs will help with bingos, crafts and other evening activities.
- TAs can also help with preparation of meals
- There is a whole host of things for our TAs to do. You will become a very important member at Camp California while benefiting from your own program.
- TAs can be a wide range of ages. We require TAs in our children’s, teen’s and the adult camps.
How do I enroll to be a TA?
Simply fill out the TA form that came with your package. All campers 16 years of age or older would have received a TA application form. If you are not a camper, go to our employment opportunities page and follow the directions.
